District Notice RSS feed for District-wide Notices FRIDAY - Coronavirus Update | 冠狀病毒 更新 March 6, 2020 English | español | 中文 Dear FUSD Families/Guardians, We continue to closely watch developments concerning the coronavirus in the Bay Area. I am in regular contact with Alameda County government and health officials, as well as other school district superintendents, sharing information and resources. We are also monitoring neighboring Santa Clara County. There have been no cases of coronavirus identified in Fremont and the County Department of Public Health states risk of catching the virus remains low. You may have heard reports of an indirect exposure at one of our sites involving a non-Fremont resident during a weekend activity last month. We are investigating the report and will follow any recommendations from the Health Department. The site will undergo deep cleaning over the weekend as a precaution. I have, understandably, received questions regarding the possibility of school closures. Alameda County, the State of California and the Center for Disease Control are not recommending school closures at this time. Please continue sending your healthy children to school. We believe non-disruption to daily routines – combined with healthy behaviors such as hand-washing, covering of coughs and sneezes, and staying home when sick is the best strategy in this scenario. As new situations develop, we will certainly make adjustments for the safety of our students and staff. Information will be posted immediately HERE on the website and sent to you via our parent notification systems. We are doing all we can to meet these unique challenges now and in the future.
